Dr. Weinstein

Rick Weinstein, MD, MBA is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He is an expert in adult and pediatric fracture care. He has subspecialty training in knee and shoulder surgery including minimally invasive surgery
and arthroscopy. Although he is one of the busiest surgeons in Westchester, his bias is toward conservative, non-operative treatment.

Besides his busy orthopedic practice, Dr. Weinstein has been working as a ringside
physician for 16 years. Initially he worked in Connecticut and is currently a panel
physician for the New York State Athletic Commission. He has worked at many boxing
matches at Madison Square Garden, Foxwoods Casino and Mohegan Sun as well as at hundreds of other events. He was elected to the Board of the Association of Ringside
Physicians and was appointed as Treasurer in 2011. Rick has spoken nationally and internationally on sports injuries on both treating and preventing injuries. He has been
an outspoken advocate of boxing.

Rick went to medical school at NYU School of Medicine after graduating Magna Cum
Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University. He completed an Orthopedic Surgery
Residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the
lovely South Bronx and then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at University of
Connecticut. Dr. Weinstein also did several months of specialty training at the Hospital
for Special Surgery and the Hospital for Joint Diseases/NYU. Recently, Dr. Weinstein
went back to obtain his Masters of Business Administration while continuing to practice
full-time. He is currently a Board Examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic
Surgeons determining certification for other orthopedic candidates.

Dr. Weinstein currently has offices in White Plains and Katonah, New York specializing
in orthopedics and sports medicine helping to “keep active people active.” He has
been interviewed many times on television and radio as well as published in multiple
magazines and medical journals. He has been recognized in New York Magazine and
Castle Connoly many times as a “Top Doc” for his sports medicine practice. His motto is
Patients Come First. His practice is always available for same day emergency visits.
